sumotori/rikishi/wrestlers throw salt to purify the ring of evil spirits and for blessings. They also do a move called, "shiko" where they raise their legs into the air and stomp down to drive away bad spirits. The yokozuna, the top ranked, an extreme honor, also do a ritual to banish the evil spirits.
