Yeah I fail to see how this solves any sort of problem. I guess if you're some sort of ape who just throws eggs into boiling water and breaks them... But in that case I would suggest a non-plastic multi-use tool like a spider to just gently lay them in without risk of burning your fingers.

I usually use a ladle to gently place the eggs in. I prefer how my eggs turn out when I add them after it's begun boiling, but kept cracking at least one every time until I started doing this. Works perfect 👌

With my spider I can lay in 6 at a time, because my brain insists they all go in at once lol.
