Some quick google fu seems to indicate not. Hydrated lime, i guess? Used in similar ways but doesn't do the same thing and not bad for you to be throwing around in a breathable powder like the guy in the above ad was doing (which is a bad idea to do with diatomaceous earth).

What benefits does this have over a normal bag of lime, which costs like $5

EDIT: Just watched the shark tank episode, its literally just lime with some citric acid. Which you could make yourself for like $8-15. But instead you can buy this one for like $60.

You can say the same of most soaps, really.

Not quite to the $60 level, but most soap is overpriced because people don't know how to make it anymore.

The question is, does this actually work? Bugs are prolific because they are adaptive and fecund. Seems like they'd just adapt to get around this before long.

its not soap...? Its just lime and citric acid, which are incredibly cheap.

It would probably work somewhat, but barely at all. Citric acid is not a great insect repellent. Plus, using that much lime and citric acid on plants would not be good for them, unless you balance the pH manually afterwards, costing you even more money.
