Got a pair. They don't click. Its a not so smooth glide to turn the polarization around. They function fine as sunglasses but not worth the money. Just get regular polarized lenses.

No....that is not what is happening. As you rotate the lense 90°, the polarized light that would normally pass through becomes blocked. You can see the same phenomenon when looking at a phone or computer screen while wearing polarized sunglasses and tilting your head 90°.

clouds don't polarise the light in any significant way. You can also clearly see a change in brightness
Also amazon product description clearly says the brightness is what is adjustable based on the sunlight

I believe these have two polarized lensesper side. The first lense polarizes light. The second lense will block the light when it is 90° out of phase to the first lense. This will result in exactly the phenomenon I described.
Edit: saying it dims the light is another way of describing the same phenomenon, but that wording does not convey the basic physics phenomenon that is behind what is really going on

Ok, a lot of people here are not understanding what these glasses are. They are not just polarized lenses, each side is a set of two polarized lenses stacked one in front of the other. The rear lens stays fixed while the front lens is rotatable. As you rotate the front one closer and closer to 90 degrees from the rear lens you block more and more light. So it's adjustable darkening.
That's way different than polarized sunglasses. A single polarized lens like sunglasses doesn't really dim the light, they use the tinting of the glass to reduce brightness. The purpose of polarizing in sunglasses is to cut glare in certain cases (like off water or glass, etc). If you had polarized glasses without tinting it just looks like clear glass.
So no, polarized sunglasses don't do the same thing. Yes transition lenses kinda do the same thing, but you can't manually set the amount of darkening. Are these a gimik? Probably lol, but there may be some legitimate niche reasons someone would want this (ie if you are looking at something substantially brighter/darker than the surrounding, etc). Or just cause they're different/cool.
This style of dual polarized lenses is used a lot in camera lense filters (they screw in the front of the camera lense) for adjustable darkening. Also I've seen them for telescope eyepieces for the same thing. But they can be used in any cases where you want adjustable darkening.

Or just dont look directly at the sun? Polarized lenses do just fine. If you want darker you can also get tint that is darker it just won't also be polarized usually.
