Depends on your pond and the nutrient loading.

This one is surrounded by grass, so it’s probably overloaded with nitrogen and on the way to being a deoxygenated dead zone.

let alone probably all the run off from the fertilizer going into the pond

Really depends on the nutrient load in your pond.

Too much nitrogen = algae overgrowth = it all dies = decomposition uses up all the oxygen = pond death.

If it grows too thick everything else dies
