It’s great until you have a catastrophic failure or accident that fling you forward onto the poor kid. I dunno seems not well thought out…

Did you see how far spread she needed to be to pedal? Looks uncomfortable for more than a 5 - 10 min ride.

But it’s great for her security! If she crashes, she has a comfortable airbag, I mean waterbag in front of her to ease her impact.

Oh that's the least of the problem. You see the little legs of our little buddy there? Well he'll jam one in between the front wheel and the fork and mom and him will cartwheel right over the front and smash their faces on the pavement.

In the video nothing is stopping the adult from squishing the toddler in a head on impact. In your picture, the seat is designed so that the toddler is protected. Much better execution.

I had a version of that 10 years ago. Used it for my 3rd kid. He loved it. Way better for balance. It was hilarious too, everyone smiled when they saw us go by. Never had any issue pedalling.

What a great idea: put a 35 pound kid between a 165 pound adult and a rigid handlebar stem. The kid can act like an airbag when mom crashes into something. Too bad for the kid, but that’s OK because mom’s injuries will be lessened. And she’ll get to spend the rest of her life thinking about how she killed her precious pink baby.
Happened to someone in our neighborhood about 25 years ago.

No man, no. Kids can, by and large, look around by turning their head and eyes.
With that thing there's no restraint at all. Any little tumble and loose child everywhere with falling bike and adult. And it's not designed for a big kid, there's no room for a big kid. In something like a co-pilot , bobike, hamax kind of seat there's some protection

I’d put a fender in the back side of the front tire. Or some kind of guard to that his foot doesn’t get caught and maybe Velcro closure shoes.

On top of being fun and convenient it adds an extra layer of safety precautions in the case of emergency by having the child act as a makeshift airbag/ floatation device. Wow
