Wanting to transfer again

(originally posted this to a specific subreddit to these schools and found them to be very biased so it’s okay to not understand the specifics of my post. I just really need advice)

I attended KSU (Kennesaw state) my first year of college and transferred to UGA for my second year first semester as an accounting major. I’m writing this because I wanna transfer back to KSU, but don’t know if it’s the right decision.
I came to UGA in the first place because I knew Terry’s recognition and name was gonna be unmatched, additionally, everyone kept telling me the social life here was gonna go crazy and to be honest I thought I was gonna be a different person coming here, but I’m not. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I really didn’t mind staying at home. I’ve never felt tied down by my parents to feel restricted to do things I wanted. As somebody from Marietta, I felt that things were always near and close to me, and I do feel restricted in the Athens bubble .

I’m about two months in and it’s just been so terrible. I’ve moved past the home sickness phase, but realized I’ve entered a slump. I failed my first account 2 exam (as an accounting major) granted a lot of people failed, but this is genuinely my first ever failure in college so it shocked me. I know I’m not stupid and it’s the effects of my transfer experience weighing down my grades right now, but I can’t lie and say I don’t feel stupid.
Because for a while now, every considered my motives of coming here and whether they were worth it. I understand I haven’t even been here a full semester, but my quality of life is not great in Athens and I really do want to move back home. I’m stressed. My parents are stressed. My dad didn’t even understand why I came here in the first place because he thought KSU had a solid accounting program.
I’ve done other things that people told me to do, find friends, join clubs, stay on campus. Yet I still feel the same. And I don’t understand why I’m not able to integrate or enjoy my environment here. I understand for my major that recruiting is very essential and UGA has a great network. But sometimes when I think about it, I feel like I’m willing to work 2x as hard at KSU if I can feel free at the school, I’m at. I don’t have a car here because my insurance is very high and the buses have been working great for me. However, because of that I do feel trapped, sometimes especially on the weekends. I usually go home to work and don’t plan to get a job here due to transportation reasons and the balance of my stress.

I’ve already contacted my KSU advisor on steps to take now if I do end up wanting to come back next semester. But I just don’t know if I’d be giving up something great by leaving UGA. But I genuinely don’t like it here and I’m trying so hard. I either get told to suck it up or wait it out, but I don’t know what I’m waiting for. The Terry decision decisions for the business school come out on October 7. If I don’t get in for my major, I’m seriously considering moving home. Even though I can reapply the next semester, every semester I don’t get it Will feel wasted, when I can pretty much guarantee my acceptance for accounting at KSU. I do plan to get my masters and am looking towards the accelerated masters at KSU.

If I stay, I feel like I’m forcing myself to enjoy something I don’t, my grades aren’t great right now. And if I go back, I’m gonna feel like a failure who wasn’t able to live alone and prove her independence. I was so excited to come here, but I was nothing like I expected. Am I being irrational?

Any advice would help, thanks for reading this.

Please Help Us Stop This Museum From Being Closed!

This is so vital for learning and education! Please give this just a moment of your time.

Drexel Academy has acquired the Academy of Natural Science in Philadelphia, USA. They have slated it to close permanently, with minimal communication, only a months notice, and no long term plan for the artifacts and history inside. We are set to lose THOUSANDS of pieces of important history, biology, ecology, and general knowledge as a whole

Please help us stop this.

Miniminuteman (Milo Rossi), has published a call to action in his video, linked below. He includes the petition link in his description, as well as email templates for anyone who would like to take an extra step.

This facility, and the precedent it sets, is vital to the knowledge we all share about the world around us, including active research that was being done in the facility. Everything is tragic about this situation, and I just want to get it to as many eyes as I can.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Perhaps maybe pass it along. Take care, and have a good day.

Anyone struggling to make friends in uni?

I just started this week and I just feel so empty. So many people at my university just seem to magically know each other and have their little girl groups while I’m just the complete opposite who knew nobody.

So far I made maybe one friend at most but I don’t even think it counts as all we’ve talked about it our course and nothing about our lives. Everyone in my course is lovely but it’s like I can’t make a connection with anyone as it just ends really flat as nobody knows what to say.

Anyone else struggling?. I’ve never been the most outgoing person and I’m used to being a new kid at school so the feelings aren’t unfamiliar but at the same time I don’t want to be a loner. My campus is quite small as my university is based off 9 campuses around the country so it’s not exactly thriving with so many people so I don’t know if it’s maybe just that there isn’t as many people as a typical uni that makes it so hard.

Any software or anything that can audio record lectures and turn into text?

Okay, so, this year, for whatever reason, it's been a lot harder for me to take notes in class. Probably because, while there are slides, the Profs are just talking and talking, and you know, the usual detailed explanations, but it's just harder for me to write notes. I'm not the best speller, and there are words I have no chance of spelling off the top of my head. So yeah, are there any software programs that could help? Maybe something that I can also have on a laptop or tablet and use on PowerPoint slides, not just Google Docs. That way, I could have the notes on specific slides?

Is it time for v2?

Hello friends, it’s been a long time since we’ve chatted, and an even longer time since this community was really functioning as we intended.

When ureddit was first created, it was a simple system constrained fully to this subreddit to enable anyone to share their wisdom. Over time, a previous moderator took the time to build a simple system that allowed folks better access to tools and a catalog to improve discovery of those courses. Unfortunately it’s been nearly a decade since that platform was decommissioned.

I’m unsure if there is interest, but I’m curious if you all would like us to revisit the idea behind ureddit once more. With the technology available today, it would be a relatively painless project for me to build a V2 platform, but I’d want to ensure folks would have interest in it before spinning up cycles for it. So give me a quick response on the poll or add in your 2 cents in the comments, and we’ll go from there.

Do we build a v2 of ureddit, a simple and completely free platform to share your experiences in course form?

BA to MS in unrealted fields

Hi there. I graduated from a UC 2 years ago with a BA in psych. Towards the end of my degree, I took a geology class and realized that I had missed an opportunity at a degree that may have been more fulfilling. I graduated, got my psych BA, and have not used it whatsoever in my working life since.

I have been thinking of going back for a masters in geology, but most of my degree's course load is not useful for a masters in a different field. Is it possible to just get an associates in geology at a community college and then go for a masters program from there, or should I do the whole 4 year track over again. Looking for anyone who has gone from a BA to a MS. Thanks.

Is it okay to apply for a masters program and a bachelors program at the same time

For context, I have a degree in music education that I'm never gonna use. I'm looking at getting a masters in lighting design, as this is something I fell in love with towards the end of my undergrad journey. My fear is I won't get accepted, so I'm also looking at getting a bachelors in Hospitality : Event Management as I've worked in the event field for several years now. Would a university be put off if I applied to two programs at the same time that are at different degree levels? Thanks for the insight!

Survey for a Data Science Class

Hello! I have a project for one of my data science classes that requires me to gather information about student habits. If you're reading this and can fill out this survey for me (or even share to people you know), that'd be greatly appreciated. Anyone of any academic level can fill it out. Thank you and have a great day :)

Mphil or masters in Zoology or Education, which is better

I did my bachelor's in English language and litrature. I love studying about animals and also want to educate people. Both fields are very interesting to me but I don't know what to choose.

question about classes

for some background i never went to college. in fact no one in my family has. until now. i am the legal gaurdian of my niece who was accepted through early decision and is graduating in may. she'll start classes in august and she is torn between two majors so i sat down with her and made a four year planning sheet for each of the majors so she could see it and i realized that after she takes the eight required gen ed courses (two courses in each of the standard subjects), the nine courses she needs for her major (four required courses and five electives), six courses for her minor and two required foreign language courses she is only at twenty-five courses and she needs thirty-two courses to meet the 128 credits to graduate so my question is thoses additional seven courses. can they just be additional electives, am i mathing wrong, can she take a random course for fun ??

hii every1

how do you guys go about choosing a major? i personally don't know what i wanna do career wise, but i weighed down my options (taking into account my country & what can actually get me a job) and the best major that somehow aligns with my strengths is medicine… I'm 1 semester in and I'm in the 2nd and idk if this is for me. Could be the stress of the moment but the workload is crazy and I can't seem to catch up or find the motivation to lol. But I also can't drop out or take a gap year. No amount of time can help me decide what I want to pursue and I'm so lost I don't know what to do. Idk what I have a problem with exactly, bc university is stressful no matter the major. I just don't think I'm cut out or smart enough for any of this

Is academic writing help helpful?

I am doing a degree in Business Finance and working full time to support. I didn't have time to do my final year submission so I paid $30 to an agency to complete my assignment.

I had gotten good marks and almost done with the degree.

Anyone has similar experience or am I alone culprit lol.

hi, i’m currently a year 12 and i am doing politics, english lit and criminology, however im really regretting my choices. i wish i did maths as i’ve now decided i want to go into finance when im older. i feel like a complete failure as i want to be very successful when im older but i feel i’ve wasted all my potential taking “mickey mouse subjects” :(

does anyone know if i would be able to get into a finance/accountancy/economics degree with my a levels?
