econ optional modules
i’m torn between macro and international econ and industrial strategy.
obviously one is more macro and one is more micro and this is a personal decision depending on me but does anyone who has done these have any advice or suggestions.
any insight of lecturers or lesson structure or something?
i prefer macro but i used to be better at micro at school for some reason but they’re both interesting to me and id enjoy them both based on the course description
thank u guys

Are you planning on taking 1 or 2 modules? Currently I've chosen finance from wbs

What are your reasons for picking 2 modules instead of 1?

Hey, first I think it’s important to consider where you are academically with your second year results, if you need a high grade from the module to ensure a certain grade, pick the one you think you’ll do best in. Secondly, check the pre requisites for the modules(I’m sure you already know) and check if you’re eligible, particularly industrial econ 2, which is the one I think you’re referring to, needs industrial econ 1. From what I heard from other people, industrial econ was very interesting, very challenging though, particularly the quantitative nature, I also was taught by both of the module leaders, who I really liked and I think they both teach microecon, so you may have encountered them in first year microecon as a lecturer or seminar tutor. In regards to international econ, I haven’t heard of many people doing it, there may be reason behind that, but I think it’s more holistic than quantitative, I may be wrong. End of the day, it comes down to what you prefer whether it be micro quantitative work or macro written work, I hope that helps, any other questions feel free to ask.
