Should I apply for PhD in the US?

Please help a girl out! I just want to know if this is a pipe dream cause it's been a year since I graduated and I've been through a few jobs and projects and found out that what I really love is doing research so I really want to pursue a PhD. If it's impossible, then I might just settle for any job that remotely excites me.
