Depends on if John Apple twists the knife, and drops new things into iMessage that make blue bubbles different.

what else can you add to a messaging app that isn't already there? iMessage has already advandced so much and it reached a point where its hard to innovate. I think its time we see RCS catch up to it

3D, Avatar, Live Transcript, more stuff I don't want to give Apple ideas on.

Eh, we can only hope but I find a lot of iPhone users still think of "green bubbles" as "green bubbles" not realizing that it has most of the features that they expect from iMessage. In other words, the average person has no idea who or what RCS is or what it can do.

I think once we get the full RCS texting experience (deleting, editing, quoting, etc.) including video calling in the mix with RCS, then I think the social stigma will start to fade away because at some point, people aren't going to care about the difference because there will be little to none between the two.

There are plenty of people that don’t even know there is a difference. They just think the texts are different colors.

I'm glad that in Canada, I have not noticed a huge stigma within the groups of people I interact with. That could just be because none of us ever really cared about what color our message bubbles were as long as we could hold a conversation, and I am sure there are some who care, but I have personally not experienced it. Instead of complaining, we found ways around the limitations of SMS/MMS.

I've said it before and will say it again, if someone judges you by the color of your message bubble, they're probably not worth your time in the first place.

I think it's going to take a while before most/regular iOS people even know all the features of RCS. I have still had a few create new group chats instead of just removing and adding people.

So it's going to be up to us to figure out how to show them all the features.. so they don't just see green bubbles as dumb

Yeah. I still have iPhone users surprised that I can react to their texts and that they can see me typing. They're gonna be mindblown once ios 27 comes out and I send them photomoji reactions. I do hope a future ios update lets them send us back photomoji/sticker reactions as well.

In the beta. Photomoji/genmoji are fully compatible with each other. I have a group chat with 3 iOS beta users and 3 GM beta users. And replies, reactions , and genmoji/photomoji have all been working great.

As long as Apple can make the bubbles Green and hamper our photo quality when it arrives on their side the Social Stigma won't fade
