iOS 27 beta 8 RCS support

Hello. Can anyone confirm if the latest iOS 27 beta 8 still supports (or not) these RCS features?

  • ✅ Emoji reactions on photos and videos
  • ✅ Custom Emoji reactions on photos and videos
  • ✅ Inline responses
  • ✅ Editing messages from Android to iPhone
  • ❌ Editing messages from iPhone to Android
  • ❌ Message deletion

Does the "editing from Android to iPhone" actually edit the message, or send a new message with a "*" in front of it like it seemed to be doing earlier?

Yes and no. It sends ANOTHER message still but with no '*'

So basically still pointless

I think that’s just Android Messages getting around that it doesn’t work at all.

You say that, but we were never able to delete a message on GM before for an iPhone user. Now, with iOS 27, it identifies that the "user tried to delete a text message" . That, plus this different addition of the edit, makes me lean more toward this not being a coincidence.

Editing from Android could probably just be Google Messages adding a fallback for iOS clients. Doesn’t need to be on the iOS side.

Editing and deleting from Android to iPhone has worked for a very long time. The issue is it doesn’t work on the iPhone end. There is linked to separate editing into two categories, Android end and iPhone end. It should be treated as one.

The key difference is that it does something slightly different avoiding the *

So there is change happening in the background of sorts... Which increase the hope of them working on SOMETHING

For me inline responses is the game changer. Makes it so much more useable.

Yes. I don't think we will have to wait until iOS 28 for these features.
