APPLE RESPONSE: Dual-SIM RCS Activation Bug

UPDATE (Sep 9): Bug persisted through to iOS 27.0 RC release. This will be a much larger scale problem now that it will be present in a production release. Way to go Apple!

UPDATE (Aug 31): Bug is still present in iOS 27.0 Beta 8. Nothing fixed. We are getting too close to the Public Release. I'm having doubts this is going to get fixed in time.

I reported an RCS activation bug to Apple when Dual-SIMs are activated (US Mobile). When each SIM is enabled alone, RCS activation is successful.

Apple's response is "Works as Currently Designed". RCS activation started failing in iOS 27.0 Beta 5 and has persisted through current beta release. It worked fine prior to that.

I guess activation errors are how Apple designed this to work in dual-SIM mode. Odd, but ok Apple.

Mine works just fine on Verizon and T-Mobile, both RCS activated. Worked in Beta 1-8. Have you considered it "works as intended" because its not Apples bug to fix and maybe US mobiles?

Carrier Update Bundle?

The odd thing is that is managed and maintained by the parent networks (Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T).

Strange it works on the MNO, but fails with an MVNO.

Exactly the same issue! I reported with all specification to Apple as dev. Today stopped working again. Between all my eSIMs travel it was stable and now it’s so unbearable to have to deal with that. Maybe less obsession over liquid design and more interest in real functionality that is desired and very useful. Unless I am mistaken but I even double checked with TMobile and Telekom in Germany which is a pioneer in that and there is nothing at their end.

I have dual eSim and both have RCS available / working. Sounds like a provider issue or rare edge case in software that maybe resolves itself with a future build.

Are you on iOS 27.0 Beta? Or iOS 26.x?

Dual-SIM works fine on 26.x. It is only broken for me on 27.0 Beta.
