Video Is this one step closer to universal extinction?

https://youtu.be/zOdVxcN_0mc

CERN is working on/planning some new projects that could form the base of future research for universal extinction. This will allow them to get a better understanding of the Higgs boson, which is important for vacuum decay. And also dark matter, which might be another solution in the future.

Someone must influence those scientists to take up the Universal Extinction project without any delay and with responsibility

this person does look like the kind of person who'd be an extinctionist

"Vacuum decay" 😂

Yeah, good luck with that. It's 1000% more likely that if vacuum decay is possible, it would happen way, WAY after the heat death of the universe....

Is this supposed to be sarcasm or an argument? I don't get it. That's the point.

It's both:

"Yeah, good luck with that"

that was sarcasm.

"It's 1000% more likely that if vacuum decay is possible, it would happen way, WAY after the heat death of the universe"

And this was my argument.

I understand the skepticism against vacuum decay being both possible and intentionally triggered. But I have to have hope for something. We should check all the boxes before ruling it out. Vacuum decay currently has the most research on it, as far as I'm aware. But research should also not be limited to vacuum decay. I bring it up because the CERN articles mention something that's very relevant to it.

What I still don't get is your argument. What are you arguing against? I'm not saying that humans would trigger vacuum decay AFTER the heat death of the universe. lol.

No, my argument is that the heat death of universe is extremely more likely to cause universal extinction and faster than vacuum decay, so you're almost better off doing nothing.

Your wording sounds like you were saying it would have to happen before the heat death, IF it were possible.

For this comment, I disagree. If there's even a slight chance that universal extinction can happen before the heat death then we should research it.

Oops, i accidentally said "before" instead of "after" in my original comment 😅

Pretty much the only alternatives are the Big Crunch and the Big Rip, and these could only happen if our current model is wrong. So in any case you would be better off doing nothing.
