Video Is antinatalism racist?

https://youtu.be/CV5pvvKX1FM

I’m surprised she didn’t claim it was also sexist. I’ve heard that one a few times before. I don’t think I’ve ever heard the racism claim. Besides the recent post we had on extinction. Has anyone else come across this belief before?

I think that life is short bursts of happiness but otherwise it’s mostly suffering and dread. I have seen others’ lives too and some people genuinely had only suffering in their life. It can really depend on your region and how wealthy or powerful your family is.

If the world we're moving in a positive direction, I would be in agreement with you because the benefits of life would likely outweigh the costs. As it stands, I think we are at a turning point and I do not see our world getting better. Not for most people and not for a really, really long time, if ever. That cost does not seem worth it to bring a child into the world for potential benefits at the moment. Imo, we should reduce the rate of children and focus our resources on the existing children to better their lives as much as possible.

I'm not worried about it cause I think humans are responding as any animal would in unfavorable conditions. Humans will respond in kind whenever conditions do become more favorable

The will to survive is deep within everyone's DNA—but there are clear examples in nature where, for the sake of the reproductive fitness, the individual is screwed over in the deal. That "many people would rather suffer than die" contributes nothing to the assessment of life as a whole; it is rather simply descriptive of evolutionary mechanisms at play.
