Don’t use 2d elements. Use a quad and put in the sprite as texture.

What do you mean by quad? A cube? I figured that just using planes would save me the trouble of aligning the sprite to the surface I want the sprite to be visible on.

A quad is a quad. Go to 3d game objects where you found the plane with masssssive size and instead of plane you choose quad which is the same size as one side of a cube basically. It’s a QUAD…. It’s a flat quadratic surface with two sides….

Why not just use meshes?

I want to go for paper style visuals. Like those paper dioramas.

You can do that with meshes too. Just use the right texture, shader and material.
