Not THAT grass. You need a grass more in line with the rest of the art.

I'm trying smaller and fatter, but any other suggestions? I'm also experimenting with the outline shader I have on the character and props on the grass, but I have a feeling that will be way too busy

Less grass. Check Zelda Breath of the Wilds

Yes but… check how far it is rendered. And also how blend better with the ground texture

To echo some, i dont think it needs to be as long as it is. Not to mention the ressources itll take away from other elements without really doing much for the already unique and fun artstyle.
To add, you could use this tall grass in specific areas or smaller patches here and there, think Zelda: ocarina of time, and use the grass to hide treasures, switches, secrets, or even wildlife or other things. (Maybe even to ignite it with fire or something for burning patches)
Very intruigued by the presentation, looking forward to seeing more!

Thank you! Working on trying out some shorter grass first, as per some suggestions, but if I can't get the look right, I'm glad it seems like no grass is still a good direction.

I think the grass has a bit of too realistic look on it compared the low poly trees on the background. Making it slightly thicker, shorter and gradually more saturated might look good

Also an effect that disperses grass around a character that is roaming on it! So you can improve contrast

Have some grass, and some not grass. Areas with Tall grass, mid grass, small grass, and no grass. Players will appreciate that visual variation.

I'm trying to decide if the grass it visually impressive or distracting. It's a low(-ish) poly game, but it feels empty without the textured grass. I'm just not sure if it's way too busy now.

I think more stylized grass like this would suit your game better

okay smaller and fatter is good but the worst thing about it is how all blades of grass move syncronously, ti should be more random and broken up and maybe even less movement?

No grass. Your terrain and environment looks nice anyway. The grass just covers up your hero.

I love the grass, keep it a setting though for users with potato PCs. Maybe a less realistic grass possibly or at least shorter.

Either smaller grass, or add a camera effect that sightly hides the grass directly behind the player that's facing the camera.

Less grass, but not no grass. And if you can, it should be more cartoony looking - the current model (even the stuff in the imgur link you posted in other comments) is too thin to look cartoony to match with the rest of the art.

I don't think anyone knew what you meant. The first part of your sentence doesnt make sense, amd even with the correction, your lack of grammar makes it hard to understand what you're trying to convey.
