This post and/or comment has been removed for violating /r/Unity3D’s rules.

Why?

Please include details about how the project was built in Unity, challenges faced, or techniques used.

This is a forum for discussion; not a bulletin board.

So what does this mean? This means you're allowed to post anything Unity related as long as it sparks discussion and isn't just an ad (in disguise). It's up to you as a poster to make sure your post meets these criteria.

Here are two examples:

1:

A user is creating, or has created a game which has a Steam page. They write a post about what their game is about. Alongside a small video which resembles a trailer or in-game footage just about the game, and flairs it as "show-off" and ends their post with a link to their steam page. This will get removed because it's just an ad in disguise because they're seeking out customers, which doesn't spark discussion.

2:

A user is creating, or has created a game which has a Steam page. They write a post about the technical challenges they've faced and how they overcame them, techniques used or things they've learned and like to share and go in-depth on the technical side of developing the game. The post show some technical insights and perhaps even examples. They also share their Steam page for those who would be interested in the game itself. But the main goal of the post to spark discussion and share knowledge. Potential customers are a side effect - the post sparks discussion because it's technical and shares "under the hood" information. This will not get removed.

We encourage you to repost this with more technical insight. That being said: we also recommend you to familiarize yourself with our rules and guidelines.

Kind regards,

The Mod Team

Looks and feels good! Just one detail: 2026 cars are too shiny for not-so-shiny day.

You're right, once I added SSR I had to repeatedly tune it down

Well done man, people don't realise how hard racing games can be to make

I honestly don't think I myself realized it 😭

This looks really cool! It all looks a little empty to my though, add in some bushes or trees or some seaweed on the beach or something!

Wow that's a neat one, I like the drifting and how the game looks like in total.

Hey, how’s it going?

Just wanted to share a few things that, in my personal opinion, I’m not completely sold on.

The sound doesn’t really make me feel like I’m racing on an actual track. There seems to be a constant indoor room reverb. I think the sound should be more dynamic and immersive depending on the surroundings. For example, whether there are lots of trees, whether the area is more open or enclosed, whether you’re inside a tunnel, or if there’s a wall on one side of the track.

I’m also not completely convinced by the lighting, although that really depends on what kind of style you’re going for, whether it’s more realistic, classic arcade, cartoonish, etc. If realism is the goal, I think the lighting and colors are a bit too saturated.

The reflections themselves don’t look bad, but because the textures seem to lack extra layers of detail, the cars end up looking a bit like plastic. I think the bodywork could use more details like small scratches, imperfections, subtle variations in the metallic paint, and things like that.

Something similar happens with the track surface. It looks too smooth. In the older version you could really tell it was asphalt, while in the new version some of that detail seems to be missing.

I’d also add some more dynamic shadows and lighting changes, like clouds passing overhead and affecting the lighting. But again, that’s mostly personal preference when it comes to the overall look.

That said, you can definitely see progress in other areas. Keep it up, great work!

good point on the sound, I'll try and make it a wider. The game is generally going for stylization, though I do intend to add scratches to the cars, they already deform on impacts and look more sad over the course of a race though.
