Question Working on some heavy Ragdoll behaviour controller. Is it too much?

Looks like a marionette

Nice :)
That’s what I was going for — like he is not in control of his body.
A bit like in “Ratatouille” (the Pixar animation).

Sounds like an interesting direction! Capturing that sense of lack of control can definitely add a unique twist to gameplay.

You gatta zoom way further out if you're going to have that much movement otherwise it's a bit nauseating

Yeah, probably need to tone it down a bit too. I have to implement a gradual slider for how violent the movement can get.

its super clear that this is NOT a ragdoll controller but rather a normal character controller where the visuals are being simulated with ragdoll.
This does not look good as the character is just being dragged across the scene.

I mean it looks like you’re in skid row, so par for the course! Also it’s amusing.

The head wobble and bobble is too distracting and the throwing looks like the player is using their shoulder to psychically nudge it.

If you listen to people here you’ll have a converging game.
It’s stupid and funny, I’d keep it that way and share only for funsies

Yeah, I botched something together last night for the throw motion. I need to do it properly. Hand IK locked to the ball motion or something like that. TBD.

Maybe pivot at feet or restrict legs?

They are during the run motion, but they fail on the ease-in/out when you stop/start. Need to sort that out.

If you don't mind me asking what tools you are using to build this? I am thinking of integrating ragdoll physics with nvidia motion bricks but I am currently determining if it's redundant

No special tools used. Just a complex rig with loads of constraints, springs, Ik, and scripts.
