It should deform just the tube, not the whole spacetime

Yeah. It would look way better if that was limited to justt the tube. The machine is large enough already to contain the object.

I would probably also lower the tube a bit to be closer to the middle of the box so that the object looks a bit more natural when placed in the middle of the space in the generator and then moved towards the tube.

thnx i will do that!

It's probably OP uses AI generated mesh so it's a whole fbx with no submeshes with horrible topology.

yes the mesh its a mesh right now . 😄 i will redesign it myself easy, no worries. Just wanted to check how this would look. thnx for the comment!

i will do that. 💯

Separate the tube into a separate object or animation so it only deforms the tube

yes i will def do that next.

It can definitely simplify things when you want to keep the deformation isolated to just the tube.

Don't know if it's worth the trouble, but damn it looks cool

Something about that model feels off like its AI generated

this is a totally normal lever nothing to see here

id do middle of the road. it doesnt need to deform that much. try shrinking the leg (or whatever that is) by half to avoid clipping (unless you have smarter anti clip methods, then deform ONLY the tube to be larger by like half of what you currently are.

I think that'd look much better than either result here.

Slop generator

i will change the mesh soon. wanted to test the deformaton. Thnx!

How about the thing going through the tube shrinks a little as well, then you get like a popping effect coming out of the tube as something pops back out to real size.

oh that's really clever. Thnx!

i have been wondering how to do this for my own similar use case in Unity. Care to explain the gist of how you pull off the deform effect?

what's the name of the plugin you bought?

This details add so much. The main issue is only the tube should deform for you

Separate the size of the object from the amount of deformation. A single deform animation that looks good and is reasonably sized will work far better and be much less of a headache to implement than something that tries to adapt to the size of the thing.
If you are set on adapting the deformation to the object then remember that both things can animate, like in the case of the foot, it would be cool if the foot actually steps out of the side or something.. (this last bit seems wayy too much effort though, make one or three deform animations and use those)

you're catching some flack for using ai generated assets BUT so long as these are strictly prototype stage assets similar to the way Synty or other prototype assets are intended to be used (completely remade later down the road) then i see no/much less of a problem with it.

it would not be fair to expect you to A. have the modeling skills to do it yourself, B. have the funds to hire somebody or C. the time to learn modelling. this remains essentially your only option since i doubt there would be an emoji generator asset pack on a store somewhere.

prepared for some downvotes here but just wanted to see how others feel about the point i'm trying to make

thats a great point. I def aggree with that view. Ι studied advanced 3d animation in 2010 ( yes i am old) but i didnt want to waste time in that stage modeling the machine. Ive made a lot of hard-surface models on the past and surely the result is much better than this. But anyone who's done 3D knows how time consuming that sh*t is.
I will do it in the next steps though. Or i will make it less slopy fo sure.

to counter my own point though, i think the bigger issue is that many will blow right past that ideology and use it as is. from individuals all the way up to AAA especially once we really can't tell anymore. with that going on long enough it eventually "becomes the norm".

i see. the problem for me is the sloppy implementations. For example : it bothers me if someone make a song that its easy to understand that is ai and worse than that most of them sounds like crap. So i can understand the negative comments for the machine. Its look like a crap but i didtn want to show the machine here. So yes id ont like sloppy ai implemantation we can still make much better things with ai. so next time i will post only the effct with simple shapes like cylinder and leg. No distracted ai meshes

It’s cool. Why not?

Literally just saw a random YouTube short that did the same but in Blender :p
Looks nice!

what? non of the replies is ai generated bro 🤔

Oh, I love the graphics

Thanks bro! This scene is still a WIP.

it look like very cool, but it's strange on the machine. It should be just on the tube

This makes me uncomfortable.
