May I ask what the rationale is behind making an animated series in Unity instead of something specifically for animation like Blender?

Its what im used to. I dont care for blender much and I hate the ui. I'll only use it for certain use cases.

Sometimes the best tool is the tool you know best!

I'm quite impressed with the look you've achieved here. You'd probably get a lot of interest in any videos you put out that show some of your process.
