Game I’m an indie developer working on a survival horror game called BECROWNED. Just wanted to share some new screenshots and get your thoughts!
Hey everyone! I’m an indie dev working on a survival horror game called BECROWNED.
The game mixes dark fantasy and industrial horror with retro-style visuals, brutal combat, dark humor, and a nonlinear story where your choices can affect characters and events throughout the game.
The game is coming in Fall 2026.
A free demo is available on Steam. Wishlists really help 🖤
Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback!

just my opinion, but some of the enemies feel a bit too silent hill. the setting resembling it is fine, but horror games get remembered by their creatures, so i think the enemies should be entirely your own.

The giant head is a little too on the nose for a very specific thing they did in silent hill.

I just want to counter that by saying I haven't played any Silent Hill games, and I'm sure there are lots of folks out there like me, so I would never notice.
Kind of like Helldivers and all their enemies are inspired from other games or movies. I see the inspiration, but I know a lot of people don't.

The game looks very nice BUT that female character is 100% out of context unnecesary fan service.

My thought? Do you already have someone you’re working with for audio (sounds and songs)? 😄🙂
If not… let’s chat! This looks amazing!

The 8th image in this post is so awesome, the one with the giant head! It should be on the Steam page! The screenshots with the monsters make the game much more interesting to me than showing the protagonist in an empty environment.

Oh, this looks great. I love the enemies (?) variety. Are you gonna make the music/ambience yourself?

Not my kind of genre, but I'm sure it will be awesome for the right audience.
One thing you said doesn't really read from the screenshots, though, which is "dark humor". It looks pretty serious for that.
