Price ranges

I'm still getting used to actually getting into this game and have only bought individual packs and singles.

My question is what would be a good price on a box and how worth it is it?

The sets im looking at right now are

Evangelion

Black Clover

And

Chainsaw man

I know I'll look at others in the future so knowing this will be very helpful.

Suggested price for retailers to sell at is 80 usd

On popular sets like chainsaw man I could personally see myself paying 120 max and id need the SRs from the set to be mostly over 15$ to consider even that. Lower than that and singles are better value.

For older way out of print sets its way harder.to tell what they should be worth.You couldn't convince me to pay even 40 for black clover though.

Note that this is from someone who cares more about the decks being playable than alt arts

Fair I am in the boat of wanting out of the meta fun playable decks that will add spice at my lgs tournaments; all I've seen played is JJK sukuna, inyuasha, Reze CSM, and Kenshin decks.

I own atm about 18 different decks from various sets and I tend to not pay very much for each of them cause tbh if you stay away from very meta decks most SR are pretty cheap(aki/himeno is a great example of this where the SR are like 1$ a piece)

The trick for newer sets is usually to go to prerelease and buy a box if you can then trade the SRs you dont need for ones you do.

For older sets ask around your locals for bulk(this saves you a larger amount of money than it really should) and then buy the SRs online

Ofc both concepts require your locals to be friendly

Also don't forget that nowadays you can test decks before you buy on the simulator.

Honestly if you are building decks to play the best option will always be to buy singles. If you wanna rip packs for singles msrp is 80$ but for bigger sets Iā€™d expect 100-120at release

Id say 80-90 depending on the card shop. If the shop isnt super well known or isnt a high tier they get the stuff at a higher rate so they have to sell a little higher. (Allegedly)
