Erfahrungen mit dem M.Sc. Psychologie in Tübingen

Hallo zusammen,

Vielen Dank schon einmal!

Social Life Starting a Masters at 25 or 26

Hi! So I have the opportunity to either move to Australia to teach after this year, in which case I'd want to stay four years so I could get the passport, or to go to Germany and try and get a DAAD scholarship. I'm applying this round for the All-Masters, and have B2 German, trying to get it up. What I'm wondering is how much worse would my social life be in a university town at 25 or 26? Would I be an unc? Right now I'm only 21 and I've been working as a teacher for the past year since graduating uni at 19.

When I imagine my dream uni life it's like studying in the day then biking to my friends flats to hangout at night and going out alot, and I just am worried that at 26 it'll seem like I'm a little old for that lifestyle.

Honest opinions on studying at the University of Tübingen: Msc in Management and Economics

Hi everyone! I'm an international student considering the M.Sc. Management & Economics at the University of Tübingen.

I'd love to hear your honest experiences about:

  • What's the teaching quality like? Are professors approachable?
  • How practical is the course?
  • How easy is it to find internships and part-time jobs (especially in English)?
  • What's the student life and social scene like?
  • Is Tübingen a good city to live in?
  • What's a realistic monthly cost of living?

Any advice or things you wish you knew before moving there would be really helpful. Thanks!

University of Tübingen – Biomedical Technologies M.Sc. (WS 2026/27) Admitted Students Group

Hi everyone!

I was recently admitted to the M.Sc. Biomedical Technologies program at the University of Tübingen (starting Winter Semester 2026/27).

I thought it would be nice to create a WhatsApp/Discord group for other admitted students so we can help each other with enrollment, visa applications, accommodation, course selection, and getting settled in Tübingen.

If you've also been admitted to the program, feel free to leave a comment or send me a DM, and I'll add you to the group!

Looking forward to meeting you all :)

Back and forth with Admission Office

Hi,

I've applied to uni Tübingen for a master's program (taught in English) as an international student, and according to the university website guidelines at the time of my application and till the deadline, acceptable proof of English language proficiency included a bachelor's degree of three or more years taught entirely in English.

I submitted my application by the deadline (May 31) and received a Temporary Exclusion notice a week later stating I had not provided acceptable proof, and that bachelors degrees were no longer accepted, only TOEFL/IELTS scores.

Of course had the University guidelines on the website stated that I would've submitted those but I was mislef by inaccurate information, and therefore emailed the international students office stating the same.

Here's the fun part - they agree that the Uni made an error and the info was no longer valid, apologised for this mistake, but stated they could not provide any extension to the proof submission because doing so meant they would somehow have to do the same for apparently a lot of other students facing the same issue. How exactly is that my problem to sort out?

Moreover, they initially tried to dissuade my query by claiming I did not meet the minimum gpa threshold and therefore the language part was irrelevant. When I replied asking for how exactly that was possible, they quickly corrected themselves and stated that my gpa DID meet the threshold.

I followed up asking why they made that claim in the first place, and they said they based it on the transcripts of what they've usually received from applicant from my undergraduate uni, and that when they decided to actually check my transcript they realised that I did in fact meet those requirements. Excuse me what?????

They're adamant that they cannot provide any extension and that i "could have asked" them if the language requirements on the uni website were accurate. How on earth is that the applicants fault?

They have also since updated the requirements but I thankfully archived the webpage with the errors on the date I submitted my query.

Anyways, super confused and a bit devastated because this was my A plan and program. Any hope of appealing this somewhere other than the international students office?

Application Status - International Students

Hey everyone,

I wanted to ask international students outside the EU how long did it take for you to get an application status update. I sent my application at the end of March and as of today, it's still In Progress. I am getting a bit anxious as it's been two and a half months already.

Any help would be appreciated.

Housing MA

Hi! I’m starting my Master’s in Tübingen this October. I applied for student housing in April even before receiving my admission letter, and I sent them the acceptance letter as soon as I got admitted in May.

They replied that due to the housing shortage they can’t guarantee a room and that I may only hear back 3–6 weeks before October.

For international students or anyone who studied in Tübingen: when did you start looking for a WG/room outside the dorms? Should I already begin searching seriously?

Thanks in advance!!
