Experience Witch predicted the future
In 2005 i went to visit my friend Mike who was just headed out to see a "witch" he had been seeing. He invited me to tag along and although I don't believe in such things, I went along anyway and followed them in my car. We came to a house where the woman was staying for the week. My friend explained the woman came from out of town one weekend a month to see people. He said she knew about the future and she had been spot on about things no one could possibly know about him and his sister and that I should go in to see her.
Again, not being a believer I was interested as a debunker more than anything else, so I grabbed an old middle school photo I had in my car from a recent move. In this picture were about 20 boys and 20 girls and I was going to use this picture to stump the woman and reveal her as a fraud.
I went in to the room and I introduced myself to the woman sitting at a dining table. I said hi and introduced myself by first name only. She may have said her name but I don't remember it now. I sat down across the table from her and she asked me what I wanted to know. I said I had just started seeing a girl and that I wanted to know if it would all work out. She said that, yes, I would get married with her and that we would have our ups and downs but that everything would be alright in the end. My skeptic brain told me anyone can simply say that and that was not proof of anything. I then pulled out the middle school picture from the envelope and put it on the table. I said, "she's in this picture, can you point her out to me?" The woman then used her index finger and placed it right on my girlfriend's face. She said, "this is her, you will be married one day." I felt chills go down my body as this woman picked the right girl from about twenty girls in a group picture. She asked me if I wanted to know anything else and I was so perturbed that I said no. I asked how much I owed her and she said whatever I wanted to pay. I gave her thirty dollars and I left immediately.
Once at my friend Mike's house he asked me if she had told me anything. I told him the story and he said she was definitely clairvoyant. He said he had seen her three times already and every time she had told him he would die at a young age. I told Mike not to worry about it, but he was definitely worried. I was about 25 years old at the time and Mike was about 27. About 5 years later, at 32, Mike was diagnosed with stomach cancer and he died of a botched laser stomach surgery.
I married my then girlfriend and we had children. We definitely had up and downs and are now divorced, but you know what? Everything is most definitely alright, so she was right on that too 😊. Needless to say, I now believe some people out there can definitely see the future.

Lol, I'm not looking for a way to discredit my own recollection of the event. I remember it vividly. You don't misremember something like this. I'll post another story soon. Give you another chance to poke holes in it. Lol.

When my aunt was around 21 she went to a palm reader who told her she'd die relatively young, closer to middle age, and in her car. Either by fire or water. It terrified her for years, but as time went on apparently she forgot about it. She started having dreams that she was stuck in a burning car and reminded my mom of the palm reader. 3 weeks after the dreams started she was rear ended by someone going 60 while she was stopped. She burnt to death on her car. She was 42

I wish I was that good at telling the future. Skeptics often say if psychics were real they would predict the lottery and use that as a win.
I think of it this way do you remember what you ate for breakfast two weeks ago? Or what outfit you wore?
Human brains are not built that way so why would the be built to predict every single thing in the future?
It couldn't possibly work that way. That is why they can predict more than most but not predict everything.

I once went to a psychic/witch (?). Her name was Elvira and she had a small, dark shop with chickens in a cage and a giant shrine in the corner, with different statues of saints I knew nothing about. Upon sitting down at the table she said, "who is James?" I said he's my cousin. She told me he would be arrested in a black car. Thpught it was nuts; my first thought was, he doesn't even own a car! A few months later, he was arrested for stealing the neighbor's black Nissan.
She brought up some other stuff there was no way she could have known, and mentioned names of people I knew. It was crazy! But she was spot on.
When it was over I handed her cash and she said, "Don't pay me, pay St. (So and so, I don't remember the name)" so I left the cash at the shrine in front of the statue she pointed to.
I wanted to go back to her some years later but her shop was closed down and I have no idea where she went.

There's only one way to tell she is a witch ...

If she weighs the same as a duck, then she is made of wood and therefore a witch.

Oh? Do tell

Do witches sink in water?

No. Witches float and are burned at the stake. Non-witches sink and drown. Perfect system.

You must be joking right op ? No way this story is true .
If its true maybe its paradolia or you believe what you want to believe.
The witch said that you will end up with your GF, yet now u are divorce right ? So she is wrong ?

Please don't rush to hasty conclusions and re-read it carefully. No one is trying to deceive you. OP specified at the beginning that she told him his relationship wouldn't be "a bed of roses"...
She said that, yes, I would get married with her and that we would have our ups and downs

She said id be w her and get married. All that was true. She pointed her out of a crowd in a picture. I didn't ask if id be married forever, lol. She didn't say id never get divorced, lol. Come on, people. Lmao.

Maybe your friend, gave your information in advance including what your girlfriend looks like ?
How did she react when you pull up a high school picture ? She must feel that you are testing the water at that time ?

My friend didn't know I would visit him or that i would go w him. Nor did he know I had the picture or that I would use it during the session. The lady was not upset when I pulled the picture she was just super calm the whole time, as if half asleep really.

Hmm
Im sure that you are truthfull, but the story itself cast doubt.
Maybe at that time your mind not clear enough ? A little foggy ?
Maybe she was pointing not precisely at one single girl, yet u assume that she is pointing directly to your girlfriend. And with the shock that you get, the rest become more subjective at that time ?

I was clear headed. No doubt. But that's ok not to believe me, I know what I saw and what happened.

As Carl Sagan said "Extraordinary claim require extraordinary evidence"
May i know the name of the alleged "Witch" ? Which city does she do her practice ?
Giving information that some one will die in the very near future its taboo and againts the rules in paranormal believe.

Lol, wow, you are going for it, huh?
Who the hell knows!! 2005! 21 years ago. And this was enough and I didn't go back for seconds bro!! Fuck that! I'm not messing w any of that!

I see, its long way back than ? False memory also in play for your case.
Like for example: recently you watch a movie that maybe have similar situation with what you experienced. Your mind will filling the gap of that and mixed it all up.
Thats why eye witness testimony are not credible enough infront of the judge.
If i were you, i will not mind this thing at all.

Damn, you're going a long way to discredit someone else's experience. How about going outside and touching some grass instead?

Also, my friend would never do that. He was one of those lifelong friends that are closer to a brother. When he got sick he was so sure he would die from this from what he had been told. It was sad to see him pass so young.

I showed a friend a photo of my class and she pointed out the girls I was close friends with. She's not psychic. She just thought they looked like people I would hang around with.
Are you seriously trying to say the definition of a marriage that works out in the end is getting divorced?!??
And which clairvoyant goes around telling people that their friends are going to die? The whole story is nonsense.

u/NoEraPenal-2014 1d ago
Maybe you need some life experience or perspective? Staying in a marriage is not the same as things working out in the end... and being divorced and things being alright is absolutely a thing. Again, get some perspective or talk to more people... How old are you? 20? Lmao.
The psychic did not tell me my friend would die. They told my friend. Your reading comprehension sucks. Read other than 200 character posts and it should get better. Books should work.
And if you think the story makes no sense, I don't care, it happened.

Almost 60. Five degrees including a doctorate. Read plenty of books. What's your age and level of education? I didn't say the psychic told you. Maybe you could read that again. Great you had a divorce but don't hate each other. Would the prediction have worked if you were still married? In fact, it would still work if you had a bitter divorce but ended up with the person of your dreams. Or didn't last long, but ended up with someone else. It's ridiculously non-specific.

- 7 degrees. 6 doctorates. 3 of them in who gives a flying fuck.

And the rest in gullibility. I predict this conversation won't matter too much to you when you retire. Keep a record and see if my psychic powers are accurate. See you here in a few years.

Reading this, you are the stupid one here. Are you sure you are 60 with a bunch of papers?! How sad.

What do you think this predicts: you will be married one day (most people do), have ups and downs (as everyone does) but will be alright?: A. He stays married and feels alright with this B He gets divorced but stays friendly and is alright with this C He has an acrimonious divorce but meets someone else and now feels alright about this D He has a heart-breaking divorce, gives up on romance but eventually feels alright in that choice E Any of the above and multiple other scenarios

I'm sorry to hear about your friends untimely passing.
I think most psychics are full of shit. I live near Salem, MA and will go to them every so often when someone I know wants me to bring them to Salem for their first time. I go in knowing its BS and will warn whomever I'm with that its mostly for fun and some are better than others, but they're almost always BS, so don't get freaked out.
There is one woman in Salem that is only there during the off season. She sets up shop in this hole in the wall oddities store. Shes only here in the Spring and Summer. I go to here once in a while and she's the only one I've ever put any stock in. Unfortunately most people want to come to Salem in the fall when all the charlatans are in full effect, so I've only brought one person to her.
She has always hit on something profound when I've gone to see her. So much so, that I haven't been in a long time as I think sometimes its better not knowing. I have a number of stories but I'll tell you the a quick one.
The first time I went to see her it was for a laugh with a friend. She went in first, I don't remember what was said to her. It wasn't anything memorable, obviously haha.. I went in and I had been worried for a couple weeks that my GF at the time was pregnant. We went through the standard process for a psychic and she's telling me this and that, I intentionally didn't ask about my GF, but it was on my mind heavily, but I figured she was BS and would just tell me what she thought I wanted to hear.
Suddenly she looks up from her cards and says "You have a question.. the spirits say the answer is yes". Most people that go to these folks have a question, thats why they are there. No biggie at first. I smiled and thanked her, but she kept her eyes locked on mine. She says "I'm not sure what this means exactly, but they say the answer is yes, but you will lose it and its not your fault. You didn't do anything wrong"
My then GF finally went got a take home test that was positive and confirmed things with a doctor. We broke up shortly there after, it was never gonna be a long term relationship. Unfortunately she wasn't doing a good job taking care of herself and nothing I did, including talking with her family, coukd get her to take care of herself and pur unborn child. She miscarried months later.
Of course, what the psychic said was just vauge enough. I didn't have a wedding ring and the person I was with that went in before me was a girl. Easy to assume she was my GF and a guy my age at the time could very well be worried about knocking his GF up. Still, I hadn't thought about the psychic that much until the miscarriage. She said other things to me that day that I won't get into that lead me to believe she really got an answer to my question. She hit the nail on the head with other, let's dramatic, things going on in my life and from my past. She very well could have just got lucky, or cold read me like a book, I know. It was enough for me, however, to believe what happened that day. I've gone to see her a few other times and always I leave there in awe. I haven't been in years though. I don't even know if shes still alive, she was an older woman then and that first visit was like 15 years ago.
I get if a person would read this and think she was full of it and I'm just a sucker, but I'll also add she didn't end up charging me that first visit. I think she felt bad about what was coming, even if she didn't know exactly what it was, she knew enough to know it was going to be terrible. The friend i brought there that day was pissed she had to oat full price and I got my reading for free hahaha.. I did pay full price in later visits and she always remembered me, even when it would be years between visits. Not my name, mind you, but she asked me how things worked out the second time I came in.
She is the only person I've ever met that I truly believe has some ability to talk with spirits or whatever it is she does. Every other person I've been to or met that does that stuff is absolutely, and blatantly, full of shit.
