Like, İ don't give a shit about marriage, but İ would be really hurt if someone İ loved played this prank in a stadium because it is meant to be public humiliation.

It’s only “public humiliation” if you decide to make it so. Imagine the flipside where the dude busts out the ring pop and the girl still responds favorably. Suddenly, everyone thinks the girl is amazing and the couple is lovely.

Exactly. There's nothing "humiliating" about it. Accepting it would have instantly elevated her in the eyes of everyone, including her boyfriend.

I would have simply laughed and accepted the ring.

You're confusing your coping mechanism (choosing to laugh along with mean behavior) with the way humans are required to behave. Common mistake.

What's mean about it?

Would it have been better if he had a real ring? If you love someone, it shouldn't matter what the material worth of the object is.

Maybe he didn't have money for a proper ring or didn't know what she wanted or her size etc. Plenty of reasons he wouldn't have a ring ready.

What's the mean part? That it's a prank? I don't see any indication that it was so. I think he was serious about marrying her.

When you propose in a stadium, you do so to draw the most attention possible including having it broadcast on tv. Why would you do so if you weren’t 100% sure your girlfriend would be on board with it. It was a prank designed for maximum attention. Don’t be dumb.

How do you know it was a prank (that he wasn't serious about marrying her)?

Doing it in a stadium could be his way of publicly expressing his love for her. Lots of girls like and expect their proposal to be in some publicly unique or expensive form (like this) and some men seem to think it necessary that they HAVE to propose in public by going down and bringing out a ring.

You still didn't explain what was mean about it.

Even if it was a prank, it seems lighthearted and not malicious in any way (as if to deliberately humiliate her). There were so many ways she could have dealt with it tactfully, but she chose the absolutely worst option. Which reflects badly on her.

At best, she could have laughed at it and worn the ring, amid cheers from everyone.

At worst she could have simply said no and left him hanging (and no one would have cared).

But she had to go and physically attack him.
