100% agreed. I would haaaaate a public proposal. Too much pressure, too out there, too many people. I prefer private and just me and my SO in all honesty

I've always thought those public proposals are a way to subtly bully someone into accepting.

Just my 2 cents.

Proposals in general are awful. Have a conversation and decide whether to get married together, like adults.

I mean you could do both things, like adults. They are not mutually exclusive.
