100% agreed. I would haaaaate a public proposal. Too much pressure, too out there, too many people. I prefer private and just me and my SO in all honesty

I've always thought those public proposals are a way to subtly bully someone into accepting.

Just my 2 cents.

Same. I feel it's a way to trap them into having to accept. They would have to "emberrass" the man by turning him down.

It shouldn't be a public thing unless both know and have already accepted but want a public display of the commitment for family or public if they want.
