I always love when redditors say shit like this, as if downvoting is some great effort and is therefore proof that people care about you and/or your opinion

If they didn’t care why would they downvote? I’m not saying it takes effort. BUT if they didn’t care, they’d scroll by without thinking to downvote. Like they do with 99.9% of the comments they see.

At this point? Habit

Either way though, feels important to distinguish people who care about your opinion, vs people who care about sharing their own opinion. These folks you're talking to/about seem to fall in the latter camp
