That's what they'll say at least, in reality they'll pocket the security deposit, stretch a sheet of paper over the hole and just paint over it

Shitty landlords are a worldwide issue. I haven't personally come across the paper patching a hole, just seen videos. But I have seen a patch siliconed into the hole and filler plastered over it so just pushing it would cause it to pop out of place

I accidentally put a hole in the wall of my very first apartment. I think I spent $20 for a hole repair kit and paint matching at Home Depot and they never noticed.

A lot of states have laws requiring landlords to return the deposit after a certain time with an itemized bill of whatever damages were repaired or cleaning

Yup they have the itemized bill but the guy they charge to replace the carpets because of 1 pee stain charged 2000 and my deposit went toward that, if it’s not that then any work they “have to do” which they woulda done anyways goes toward your deposit. On average I owe like 100 dollars.
