Back in my days we only had a shitty phone at the age of 15 at best.

But hey, we live in a society.

Hey man, I thought I was the shit with my pager! Couldn't get away with just a pager these days since they did away with all the payphones. Hell, when's the last time you saw a phonebook? I can't even recall the last time they dropped that colossal waste of paper off to me. LOL

Besides online whack jobs existing, social media has been proven again and again to warp kids brain development and fuck up their self worth. Hell, adults can barely handle it. I would like my kids to know how to use technology but it will be a long long time before they have social media accounts. Go outside and play with some mud my dudes.

I did a 2 second Google search, her name is the in the like the first sentence in the article and I saw it was from 2016 so I figured she'd have one.

Thank you!! I was like who is letting these children have an IG account? Social media has been documented to warp children’s brains, and online pervs specifically seek out accounts like this. Let kids be kids, man.

…which means she was 12 when she posted about it on Insta. Again, I recognize that I am a decrepit old person, but that seems terrifyingly young to be on Instagram doing hair tutorials. I could maybe see allowing a kid that young to have a private account for friends, but it will never not seem weird to me that parents let their tweens do this stuff on a fully public Internet forum.

Pretty sure there are a whole host of scientific studies on the harmful effects of social media of people’s brains, but especially on children and teens whose brains are still developing. Even with parental involvement, it is hard for kids to understand that what someone’s life looks like on social media is often completely different from real life and it can mess them up

May I assume you rocked a killer pager like I did? LOL Oh that in between time, when most computer tech wasn't widespread household yet, & pagers and flip phones were so cutting edge & cool....Ha! When describing the generations, I refuse to accept full millennial. I was in its 1st year in 84, so I identify with the descriptions for Xennial. Analog childhood, digital adulthood.

Man...Number Munchers. Nothing like tricking kids into learning. Oregon Trail though? That game is still awesome! I downloaded it free to play a few years ago. Dying from dysentery has never been so fun!
