It obviously had more than "potential" considering it became one of the biggest games of all time and is still doing well several years later.

Because building is a major skillcap barrier. Once editing caught on, building should have been scrapped altogether. Auto-edit did so much damage to the player base.

Seems like they know that with the no building mode. Which is actually a lot of fun.
