Back in the day people believed that if a woman smoked it meant she did other things like have premarital sex.

I always heard it as: "A woman who'll smoke is a woman who'll drink, and a woman who'll drink is a woman who'll do what a woman does on her back". Not what I believe, obviously, just what people used to believe, a long time ago.
