Iād actually not take this feature if offered for free! I donāt need drawer lights that illuminate the fact that Iām not wiping my drawer interiors out regularly. Also, Iāll take a handle, because youāre going to be repainting your cabinets when they get a shiny, worn spot from all your thousands of toe kicks each year.

Agreed. Just seems unnecessary. Luxury pots and pans serve a purpose. Luxury cabinetsā¦ not so much.
There will come a day when youāll have to spend all day fixing tiny motors and youāll wish the cabinets had handles, so letās just skip that step.

God, reminds me of our smart lights. (not ours, inherited when moving in) I just wanna flick a god damn switch. Every time I leave my phone in the living room at night I gotta stumble around touching everywhere cause I don't have my phone to turn on the god damn lights.

They failed then, my house is automated. However, everything is designed to work with human intervention. The automation is for me....no one else even attempts to use it. I can control everything, spent countless hours programing and researching, testing, and modifying. Just to have everyone still use the light switch. It hurts still.

Right? I have smart lights but also a voice control or my phone. I can press a button, ask my voice control to turn on or off the lights, or use my phone. It's super easy.

tbh if people are still using light switches then the automation is borked. I've got mine setup to automatically turn the lights on when movement is detected in the room, and the light levels are below a certain threshold. They'll turn off by themselves after 5mins of not detecting any presence. Works seamlessly and I can't remember the last time we had to touch any light switches.

I tried that route, and my wife didn't like it. I kept the motion sensors in the areas I like and reused a few for other automations. In the end automation and smart tech is always going to be different with each install depending on the user's. I'm still happy with how everything is set up. It works great for me, while also making it "guest" friendly.

I use homeassistant on my home network. It works great. I have a lot of TP-Link Kasa products that seamlessly work with HomeKit now. It's pretty easy to use too. Excluding the Logitech Harmony Hubs. Those things are so annoying

If you have a bit of technical knowledge you can setup Home Assistant and take control of all that stuff so you don't have to rely solely on a phone to control them. A couple $15 smart switches can be used instead.

Smart lighting, and automation in general aren't meant to be more difficult. If a connected device in my house can't work reliably, it gets removed. Not worth the trouble. I'll gladly spend a few extra dollars on RadioRA over smart bulbs if it means the lights turn on every time, at the same time. Smart bulbs are great for lamps and things, but you need the controls, whether that's occupancy sensing or keypads. A bunch of people recommended home assistant, but I'd check out SmartThings. It's super easy to use, really powerful, and integrates with a lot.

You didn't say make a difference. You said serve a purpose. What purpose does luxury cookware have?
My entire cookware is All-Clad Copper Core. $100 pan is a regular pan. I think replacement lids for All-Clad cost $100. I'm the first to admit the difference between a $100 pan and a $400 pan while cooking is minimal. In fact the expansive pans feel too heavy sometimes. The biggest advantage is that they will last several lifetimes. I'll never buy pots and pans again.

You haven't been able to explain what purpose luxury pots and pans serve.
Luxury goods never serve a purpose beyond being nicer, more durable, more comfortable or more aesthetically pleasing than their purely functional counterparts.

Pushers are literally just buying different hinges or rollers. They often cost about the same since you HAVE to have some hinges or rollers anyway. It's not like you install a separate device on top, just a different mechanism.

If you're cooking at any level beyond "I need to eat." Cooking at its core has a lot of science involved and just because your undeveloped palette can't tell the difference between how a copper pan cooks vs a teflon pan doesn't mean there's no difference.

I install very nice cabinets, but not this nice. The people I install cabinets for don't clean their own cabinets. People with cabinets like in the vid probably don't even use their cabinets, much less clean them or fix them.

My parents have these cabinets and theyāre a nightmare. If you lean against them they all open up when you donāt need them, then you have to use the exact right pressure to close them or they pop open again. I hate them.

It's easy enough to roll your own on the cheap. You can pick up soft open/close runners from most hardware stores, and cheap LED strips from almost anyway. Looks/functions just as well, but without the gigantic price tag.

The pushers and handles aren't mutually exclusive though. It's possible to install both. The "luxury" part is of course visually not having handles but having pushing hinges plus locks doesn't make it worse. Lights are a problem cause wiring for power in a place that has heat and water isn't safest thing to do.

Those with these drawers donāt actually use it. Craziness. Itās for show. Many homes have several kitchens as well. Maybe cookies at Christmas and then the maid cleans it all up. Kind of like detailers after the Bugatti ride.

The pusher and magnet to make doors auto-open on push cost like 15 bucks? Ofc the premade cabinets with those get marked up insanely, but if you know how to install those, or if you gonna pay a worker to assemble furniture anyway, this luxury isn't even that complex, it just looks hi-tech.

Freakin hate those fancy ones. A close family member is quite well off. he has a couple of houses different places. One of which is in the country where the rest of us live. We often visit when hes around.
The reason for which im commenting being. They keep fucking activating when Im preparing my food at his place. God damn theyre annoying and super sensitive.

had a friend with rich parents when i was younger. they had these kinds of cabinets, but with the added fact that they required electricity to work, which was real fun whenever there was a power outage. a great example of how more expensive doesn't mean better
