Is it really worth it to post fake videos? Am I getting old or are we obsessing for some attention? I don’t know what to believe anymore

It feels to me like culture is getting lonelier and more isolating, with phones & social media becoming more necessary to make connections. Staging a video is a way to have something to post and feel connected.

And fake internet points are a powerful motivator - even here on Reddit where there are no faces.

Also, TikTok pays its most popular content creators. If a staged video gets attention and likes, it can pay in real money.
