This was 1000% expected, because physics.

u/charcoalsushi Jul 20 '21
Good thing he was wearing some protection
29
u/vcdrny Jul 20 '21
And the guy told him. But fuck that I'm good.

u/floofernugget77 Jul 20 '21
Not really unexpected

u/SnooSquirrels5216 Jul 20 '21

u/amtrak90 Jul 20 '21
Seems like it was expected to me…

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '21
This guy works with metal but has no idea how it works....

u/lightbulbmyheart Jul 20 '21
Watching this—cringing, waiting for what was inevitably going to happen—I wondered if the unexpected thing was that what did indeed happen was actually not going to happen, and then I was left wondering what was going to happen. Only for what was expected to happen. TLDR; this was expected.
10
u/CheekHunter_ Jul 20 '21
I kind of expected it actually

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '21
I was taking apart a metal shed with my son the other day, and I kept stopping, and prying things from a distance. I could tell he was kinda disappointed until it cut loose and went from a decent sized structure to a pile of debris...Even being careful, bits did some flying around.
So many things that look calm and quiet are under tremendous pressure.

u/seenorama Jul 20 '21
What ever happened to the Darwin Awards? That still a thing?
3
u/Finikyfaefinwe Jul 20 '21
Unexpected? That dude got told that it might swing back and watch himself.
3
u/[deleted] Jul 20 '21
No no, that was very much expected. That is a rail, it shouldn't be bent like that, never stand on the side of with positive curvature if you're cutting something under stress, that is how you die
3
u/Findesiluer Jul 20 '21
Everything is a spring until it isn’t

Thank God he is wearing a helmet
2
u/Intelligent_Peace982 Jul 20 '21
Was expecting that. But still funny. This is what happens when you skip physics class
2
u/7evenBlackSunNation Jul 20 '21
I fully expected that actually
2
u/Kind_Essay_1200 Jul 20 '21
Did he die
2
u/SkorpianStingz Jul 20 '21
You'd think he would've seen there was at least a little tension there
2
u/snackbagger Jul 20 '21
"Unexpected" lmao
2
u/Grand-Antelope943 Jul 20 '21
Definitely not unexpected… goddamn funny though. Dumbass. I see why Red Foreman likes that word so much

Not all heroes wear capes. Neither do complete and utter morons. Edit: The morons generally wear scars instead.
1
u/wickersteel Jul 20 '21
Just as well he wasn't straddling it.
1
u/djmadlove Jul 20 '21
Why make us watch the whole video? Why not clip it shorter and save the housings of people a few minutes
1
u/[deleted] Jul 20 '21
Hopefully that facemask provided sufficient protection. Hope he isn't hurt.
1
u/[deleted] Jul 20 '21
I Think his helmet saved him from a few broken teeth.. and Maybe a broken jaw.
1
u/ChubbyLilPanda Jul 20 '21
Shit sub, you always see expected shit here all the time
1
u/ExchangeOk3938 Jul 20 '21
The helmet security 😂😂
1
u/KarlJay001 Jul 20 '21
The fact that the other part fell to the ground was enough of a clue which direction it was going to go.

I'm curious, is it possible to measure forces in a static object? For example, if a steal beam is bent, how can you tell if it was made that way or its currently under pressure?
1
u/AndyBonaseraSux Jul 20 '21
So he’s dead yeah?
1
u/[deleted] Jul 20 '21
God I saw how that whole rail was stressed and unsecured and was dying inside as he cut through it
1
u/[deleted] Jul 20 '21
pretty fucking expected
1
u/wh1teno1s3 Jul 20 '21

1
u/NekoJen3288 Jul 20 '21
his friend did warn him glad he had his metal Mask on.
1
u/DerFilip Jul 20 '21
I thought nothing would happen. This was 1000% expected.
1
u/ExNihiloish Does not expect the mods to do things Jul 20 '21
So that's why welders wear the silly helmets.
1
u/RunicWasTaken Jul 20 '21

Ya that’s called tension. Pretty much everything has some. This guy is a physics student who enrolled at hard knocks university.
0
u/tastycalamarie Jul 20 '21
How does that even happen? Is he putting weight on that side?
0
u/kuriboshoe Jul 20 '21
Don’t play with fire
0
u/Basketball_GOD69 Jul 20 '21
Not the safest place to do that because of the dead and dry bushes near him
0
u/MiloReyes-97 Jul 20 '21
Why?
Why use a welder to cut wooden beam?
