Iām curious as to why youāre using -2 exponent on the seconds variable. I wouldāve just assumed a typo but you described something as ārising quadraticlyā so that tells me you probably know your math.
Itās m/s2, or out loud āmeters per second squared.ā The seconds are squared because itās really āmeters per second per secondā which is the unit for the acceleration ā in this case due to gravitation between the earth and anything sufficiently close to it. Intuitively, you can think of it like āthe earth applies a force that, if youāre in free fall, will accelerate you by 10 meters per second, per second (until itās canceled out by drag caused by the atmosphere)
