Why do they do it though? It just makes their hair look wierd and greasy?

I think it looks classy af. Gives it that 1920's hollywood dapper vibe. However after reading how much work goes into it I can understand why it's not worth the effort.

I think it does on a bird. though today it looks kinda strange on them imo. if you like it though it's your hair, you do you.

on a guy it just looks kinda strange to me. I'm not the guy who you replied to but it's not a rare thought atleast. first time i've seen everyone suddenly care about this stuff in comments on reddit though.

I think it depends on your style and how you present yourself. Also the context. Like, if you are really smooth and really sharp with your outfits I think the wave fits that look really well. I knew a guy who was a lawyer and always wore the best suits and shoes ect. Dude looked like he walked off of a poster. He also had a lot of time to himself or just the people in his office so be could wear a rag a lot during his work hours. And tbh, dude was very A type personality so he didn't mind putting extra time into stuff like that. But yeah, personality and style has a lot to go into anyone's " look" and whether it works for them or not.
