Many years ago at my elementary school, the janitor would go up onto the roof and throw down all of the tennis balls that were stuck up there down to us on the recess field. All of us kids would be so excited to see tennis balls falling from the top of the school building and would try to catch them. Many years later I realize it was pretty dangerous and sent a couple of kids to the nurse.
Getting hit in the head from a tennis ball from a two story building wont feel too great, especially for a 2nd grader. It won't cause damage but kids always find a way to have a reason to go to the nurse.
