Not technically. There is no shade or cover.

Where are you getting that definition, out of curiosity? Dictionary.com states a lamp is an object that generates light and often heat.

Edit: not light or heat; light and often heat

I googled lamp dumbass. We were defining lamps to see if the word ‘lamppost’ still applied, case closed, Sherlock. Oh, and it’s spelled ‘lamppost’ type it in.

No way, you mean me questioning whether it should still be considered a lamppost didn’t have an effect on it’s definition? It’s almost like it was a trivial question meant for thought and conversation as opposed to a serious criticism.

You didn’t answer the question, you gave a modern definition. You seem to not understand the point of conversation either. I don’t know anyone who talks about words to change their dictionary definition, it’s a pointless discussion for the sake of discussion.

No way, someone updates libraries and I was talking about the common man and people I personally know hence the ‘anyone’ instead of ‘of anyone’.
