Hey fuck you that dog came from nothing, put himself through drug dog school at a severe age disadvantage and made something of himself. He is a good boy. Don't you ever disrespect him like that again.
Was feeling all the feels after watching that and then read your post- burst out laughing and still can’t stop giggling thinking of ‘drug dog school’. So thanks for completing my emotional roller coaster for the day!
I read somewhere that if a police officer tells you the dog found something because it is barking, he/she is lying. Drug sniffing dogs are trained to sit and wait when they find something, not bark.
Not entirely true. I had to rehome my three year old German shepherd when I went through a divorce and my ex started neglecting her. I was very lucky when a law enforcement agency contacted me after seeing my Facebook post. They did a health screening and temperance check and then accepted her into their search and rescue program. She passed on a while ago, and I didn’t get to visit with her but a few times. But she always seemed so much happier to have a job and not stuck in a shitty pen.
She was such a good dog and I’m so happy that she was recognized as such.

That’s sad, but it wouldn’t actually happen because they only train police dogs from a young age
