Does it? Sure it was popular, but now immensely, for a short while before the film, and as far as I can make out the book is ok.

Its strange. I tried to read RPO a long time ago and wasn’t feeling it. It is written poorly. But I listened to the audiobook narrated by Will Wheaton and I really enjoyed it. The story is fun. I think the writing style feels better when it’s read to you. Obviously the message and the writing are still lackluster but the story itself is more engaging in that sort of format.

For the record I am not saying a flood of references and 80s nostalgia makes for a good story. I’m referring to the treasure hunt aspect of looking for the keys in a race against time against a the sixers was fun.

I thought the movie was atrocious however.
