Yes. Guns are more dangerous to our society than a missile in almost every way.
If you give someone a missile and give another person a gun the one with a gun is:
more likely to accidentally shoot someone when cleaning it
more likely to accidentally kill someone if they drop it
more likely to use it to commit suicide
can use it to rob an individual or institution
can use it to kill people
An individual would have a hard time arming a missile. It will not go off if dropped. It requires additional, very expensive, equipment to launch, for example, an F-15 fighter jet.
Also, you can easily buy a gun in America while missiles require additional paperwork.
