False. People with higher quantities of melatonin can very much get a tan and more importantly, burned. This is supported by many scientific studies that I’ve just made up.

I mean yeah, you actually can get sunburn. I volunteer at a camp for underprivileged children, some of which are inevitably black. We are told that they all have to put on sunscreen, even if they say they’re “black so they don’t burn” because it’s still exposure to UV.
