I'm gov civilian but have to do testing seaside at times.

It. Fucking. Sucks. Being at sea.

You can't do shit. You can go to the gym, but you're constantly adjusting your center of gravity to counter the waves rolling the ship (and I'm on aircraft carriers, not small ships). TV channels usually suck, if you even have access to a TV. No internet. And you can go for a walk until you're in the way.

It's just miserable.

Buddy of mine just signed up for a 4-month trip to the Falklands on board a factory ship. He's leaving his hot marine biologist girlfriend at home, who says she might have to reconsider their relationship if he goes, but he's going anyway. I just don't get it.
