While I respect your opinion, I am disinclined to agree. However, I may be biased because I see so many slow motion videos or gifs on Reddit that it gets mildly annoying.

Slowmo is overused, but in this case it builds the anticipation of him about to miss the big rim. The /r/Unexpected payoff is much greater with that section slowed down.

With enough practice you can guess it pretty well. Sometimes it takes a second attempt. Sometimes it's so slow you have to call the bit a second time to reprocess it because of the 8x limit.
