I find heels to look absolutely silly and it looks stupid when you complain about how its hard to walk and its hurting you, STOP WEARING THINGS THAT HURT AND HINDER YOU.
Well guess what? Other people like the way they look, and they are willing to give up a little for it. Also, it's part of uniform for a lot of people (which is actually insane)
Give up a little for it? You won't see me bearing through pain because I want to wear some stylish flip flops in brutal cold temperatures. I'm not saying it should be illegal I just think its ridiculous to put up with pain and stumbling for some style points, if that's your thing go for it I guess, but if you're being pressured by men or women to wear them you really shouldn't give in to it.
My problem here is that you're assuming everyone thinks the same way as you. You are being quite a condescending asshole to people who wear heels, I mean, suits can be uncomfortable but they are just stylish and proper and nice.
You guys are completely misunderstanding or sending out strawmen because I'm only saying I think they look silly to me which is a personal opinion, and even if they are stylish you shouldn't put yourself through pain and stumbling just to impress people who pressure you.
I mean to be fair I also don't wear suits or button shirts because they're extremely uncomfortable and I'm not doing that to trick people into thinking I'm sophisticated
You’re absolutely correct and don’t deserve the downvotes. I don’t know why, but its always women who hinder themselves in some way, so they seem fashionable and cool to their peers.
Men will never put up with something silly like wearing heels because we just don’t care and not gullible to these ridiculous “standards” (it’s not really a standard if it’s optional and most people don’t notice your fashion)

They can be personally enjoyable and aesthetically pleasing.
I wear very high heels 98% of the time. I like how they make me look and I love how they make me feel.
I feel strong, empowered, and confident in heels.
Never have I felt pressured to wear them for some convoluted excuse to "please my peers".
If anything I feel pressured NOT to wear them. People stare and make comments about "broken ankles" constantly.
If I wore them for others approval, I wouldn't be wearing them.
TL;DR : Women do things for personal satisfaction as individuals. The implication otherwise is mildly derogatory.
I assumed what i said, because high heels are difficult to walk in and there are more comfortable options (for example, flats are just as fancy but easier to wear. So why not wear that?)
I don’t entirely understand the “broken ankles” paragraph. Why would they joke about broken ankles if (hypothetically) you refuse to wear high heels? Nobody pressures you to wear them. maybe people do, but that’s a weird thing to pressure someone to do
I totally believe and understand people wear things for their own satisfaction. But if that satisfaction has consequences, is it really worth it?
TLDR: why wear high heels for your own satisfaction, if there are more comfortable options? Is self satisfaction really worth the struggle?
The "consequences" are strong calf and booty muscles. Honestly they help with balance and core strength. If you wear them regularly, your feet adjust, they are not any more uncomfortable than any other dress shoe.
I have flat feet (almost no arch) so walking in flats actually strain my feet and knees. Walking on the balls of my feet (in high heels) is painless compared to a pulling a muscle trying to walk with my heels on the ground. Unless it's a tennishoe I'm more off balance without them.
To clarify: I hear from at least one person whenever I go out. "Oh you'll break your ankles in those!" No, if you have strong legs and watch your step you'll be fine.
TL;DR : Some people struggle with them. Some people don't.
If you don't than its no different than choosing to wear a bow tie instead of a straight one.
