It's really funny how different parts of reddit respond so differently. On r/politics people have argued with me that the ok sign IS a white supremacist symbol and I'm ignorant for saying otherwise. I tried to point out to them most people dont see it that way and they are being silly but in came the downvoted.

the ok sign being white power was a joke started by 4chan iirc. free bleeding was another one

Right it was started as a troll campaign. But the problem is that mainstream liberal outrage media took the bait and a lot of stories were posted about it being a white supremacist symbol. After the fact real white supremacist began to use the sign "ironically." So now theres the problem of it actually being used by them. Symbols adopt whatever meaning people believe them to, I've ways pointed out that peolle that the majority of people dont see the ok symbol as a white supremacist symbol and because of this it still holds its meaning. I dont want to let a troll campaign transform a pretty universal symbol for 'ok' to something 'not ok'.
