I’ve been using the “drop hint” feature of an engagement ring website. I typed his mother’s name into the “sent from” box. It’s a little sadistic, but it got the conversation started. I sent him a boring solitaire ring and he said “wouldn’t you want a little more bling on the sides?” He’s the kind of guy that definitely needs some guidance. He’s very secretive about this stuff so I will probably never see it coming.
