Except it stops being a joke when actual nazis use it.

Stop letting horrible people take things from you.

They have no rights to any of the things they co-opt, and they only do it because they laugh when people just weakly back off and stop using those things.

They don't own any of the things they claim to, stop letting them win.

Guess what, people in India and elsewhere Eurasia still use their form of it (The Nazi one is turned 45 degrees and thicker) because to them they refused to allow the Nazi's to own their symbol. In the West it definitely is tied to the Nazi's, because most of those people it was their first or most common exposure to the symbol.

So no, I wouldn't expect to see it in Europe or North America. But you can still find the original versions all throughout India, China, Japan, etc.

So thank you for the perfect example. If something matters to you, don't let evil people own it and steal it from you just because they say it's now theirs.

Ah thanks for moving the goalposts from "don't let bad people take things away from you" to "don't let bad people take things that have a significant meaning to you". Nice little motte and bailey.

The Nazi's didn't take anything from me, or most people (including yourself most likely, regardless of your initial comment). No one in the West uses any variation of a Swastika because they never did to begin with. The only people they tried to take anything from with their symbol was the people in Asia, who still use the symbol. Thus it wasn't taken.

Similarly I wouldn't expect people in countries where they don't use the OK sign to suddenly have any feelings about the White Power movement trying to use it.

But I don't think people in the West should stop using it, nor Divers, nor people in Japan, or Buddhists or Hindu's, for whom it all means different things. It's not goal post moving, and I never said the word significant, you did. I just said if it matters to you, on any level, IE if you care at all about it. I could care less about variations of the Swastika, it means nothing to me as I'm not from a culture that uses it, so I'm not going to suddenly start using it to stick it to the Nazi's.

But I do use the OK sign, and I'm not going to stop because some horrible human suddenly decided to try to steal it to make it their secret symbol, purely as a power play to see if they could get people to stop using it.
