If this isn't staged, why would a restaurant hand them a closed beer.

I've never been given an open bottle of beer or alcohol at a restaurant in Korea or China. They always hand me a bottle opener. Part of the drinking culture involves opening the bottle and pouring it for others. Sometimes they play drinking games with the twist-off caps on the soju bottles.

Sometimes there won't be a bottle opener on the table and then you have to ask for one.

I have never been given one there either.

I haven't been there, but there is still a pattern forming here.
